Stripping, buffing, treatement and varnishing

Although described as industrial, our activity in fact resembles a real craft. Our quality is exported globally (United States, Qatar, China, Australia, Maghreb, Europe, etc.). The most prestigious names in the fields of luxury, architecture, art and restoration of antique pieces have put their confidence in us.

Surface treatment is undertaken in several stages:

• Stripping,
• Manual and/or robotised polishing,
• Manual buffing,
• Electrolytic surface treatment,
• Varnishing.

Stripping cleans the pieces of all materials covering them (varnish, paint, etc.) and eliminates deposits and oxidation (rust, borax, etc.) by immersing them in acid baths.

Polishing is a key stage in the final quality of the product; it conditions the ultimate appearance of the piece. The dexterity of our polishers makes them professionals able to prepare the most complex surfaces (welded frames, hewn pieces). The protrusions and flaws of the pieces are thus “erased” by polishing undertaken with strips having a gradually finer grain until a flawless brilliant surface is achieved.

Buffing shines the pieces and eliminates the traces of the polishing cloths.

Surface treatment enables the protection and decoration of the metal. First the pieces are degreased by electrolysis in order to ensure good adherence. Then a first layer of metal is laid in order to prepare the cohesion of the successive layers of metal.

Varnishing protects the pieces and the decor from external attacks (sweat from the hands, bad weather, etc.). There are different types of varnish, resistant to greater or lesser degrees, containing more or less colour, and having different properties. Our varnishes are applied manually in an appropriate area with water curtain, and fired in the furnace in order to give them greater resistance.
